Frequently asked questions.
Can I get my piece altered?
I am happy to make basic alterations, free of charge. My studio is in Southern Oregon, so if you are local you are welcome to make an appointment by sending me a message. If you are not local, send me a message with your request and I can determine whether it is something that I can do via mail; or I can provide instructions for you to take to your local seamstress/dress-maker. While I’m happy to make alterations for free, you will be responsible for any shipping costs. So if you know that you want shorter sleeves before you order something, let me know in a message before I ship it! (are you sensing a theme of encouraged communication here?)
i stained/ripped/burned my outfit in a campfire. Can you fix it?
Yes. Step one: Don’t be embarrassed. I love that you are living life in my clothes… and stuff happens! Step two: Follow the instructions above for “Can I get my piece altered?”
How can i get a custom piece made?
The first step in having a custom piece made is to look through the shop here and my pieces on social media to get a sense of my style. If it aligns with what you’re looking for, send me a message with as much information as possible about what you’d like. Examples of this information include a photo or link to a specific item, photos of yourself and photos of a piece of your own that you’d like to reconstruct. If you don’t have a solid sense of what you’d like, that’s fine too. We can have a conversation and see what happens.
Often I ask clients if they have a budget and I determine what can be done within that. Ranges are good, as I can create a piece up to a certain base level, and then determine the cost to move forward so that the client can make that choice. Depending on the project, there may be check in points and fittings required. Deposits are made prior to the start of the project in order to cover any cost of time/materials. These deposits are not refundable. Final payment is required prior to shipping.
What if I don’t like the final product of my custom-order piece?
I try to make things work out for everyone. Worst case scenario is that any deposits made on approval milestones will be lost. However, if it is a piece that I can sell (if it is along the lines of my products) I am typically ok doing that and will refund as much of the deposit as possible.
Do you ship outside of the United States?
At this point, I only ship inside the United States.
